David Coles  27/03/2018 – 26/03/2022  Chair of governors (MAT - Chair of directors)  I am a Criminal Defence Lawyer and have worked within a private practice for over 30 years. I am Chair of our Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and East Park Academy. I am Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee responsible for a multi-million pound budget. I have been a Governor for 20 years in one role or another throughout that period. I am pleased and honoured to be part of East Park's incredible journey to date and hopefully in the future too.

Helena Smith         27/03/2018 – 26/03/2022ViceChair Early Years Vice chair / EYFS link governor (MAT - Director) I have been primary school teacher for the past 24 years. Initially I was a class teacher and now teach music across the primary age range. I am the Early years governor at East Park and Manor Primary. I am proud and privileged to be a governor at East Park.

19/05/2016 – 18/05/2020CEO of Manor MAT / Safeguarding link governorBeen a Headteacher for 20 years and is a National Leader of Education. Worked with many special measures schools and RI schools over the past 15 years and has a proven track record of supporting them out of these categories. Led Manor Primary School rapidly improving it and sustaining it as being one of the best performing schools in the country.

Sharon Leonard14/11/2018 – 13/11/2022Co-Opted Governor / Safeguarding link governorI am currently a Strengthening Families Delivery Manager. I have worked in Early Intervention for 5 years but have over 28 years experience of working with children and families I am the named safeguarding officer for East Park. It’s an honour to be aligned to such a forward thinking proactive school with huge ambitions for the holistic development of children.

Andy Aston 23/03/2018 – 22/03/2022Parent Governor / SEND & LAC Link GovernorI currently work for Wolverhampton University and part of my role includes teaching SEND and Primary ED students which works well alongside my governor role of LAC and SEND. I have been teacher FE for two years whilst completing my PGCE. Moving forward, my next role will be in research as I have played a big part in data collection and analysis with the Wolverhampton HeadStart project. I thoroughly enjoy my role as a parent governor.

Pete Tarbuck 23/03/2018 – 22/03/2022Parent Governor / Pupil premium link GovernorSystems Manager and Software Engineer at Lloyd’s Banking Group. I’ve been with the bank 20 years. Current field, circa 12 years (System Change management and governance) I’m a Link Governor for disadvantaged children and also a communication policy champion and Parent Governor. I could list a million words here! Proud is the one that really describes my feelings about being a governor at East Park Academy. To be involved in something different to my day job and having the opportunity to work with such a fantastic and inspirational team is something I take great satisfaction from. 

Stephen Joseph Staff Governor / Teacher / mentorLearning Mentor & Music Teacher, and I am also involved in creating media through video and our Radio Station with the children to promote the school’s activities, celebrate our successes, and widen our influence in the local area.   I have worked in music education since 2003, but specifically at East Park Academy as a Music Teacher since 2013, and as  Learning Mentor since 2017. Obtaining a  Film & Video Production honours degree has helped in my other roles at the school.   I am a staff governor on the East Park Academy Governing Body.   It’s an honour to part of a team that works together with the leaders of East Park Academy to create an outstanding school, give our children the best learning environment for them to grow in, launching them into secondary school with a sense of wonder and a thirst for knowledge and skills that will ultimately lead them to be well-rounded, happy, resilient and contributing members of our society, who continue their learning experiences beyond education.
